Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is the language of the Australian Deaf community.
At Tuart Forest Primary School, our Pre-primary to Year Six students will participate in weekly Auslan sessions.
Students learn about Deaf Culture as well as the fundamentals of Sign Language. We have a range of resources to support the Auslan program.
Learning languages other than English, including Auslan, enables all students to communicate in an intercultural capability and gain an understanding of the role of language and culture in human communication.
